Visit Mt. Koya, registered on the UNESCO World Heritage Site list as “Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range.” Enjoy a temple lodging stay and an authentic Buddhist vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner. On day 2, enjoy exploring Mt. Koya at your own leisure.  

DAY 1 Osaka – Mt Koya

Depart Osaka
Pickup from selected hotels in Osaka. Depart Osaka Nankai Namba Station to Gokurakubashi Station by train, then bus to Koyasan Station.

Buddhist vegetarian cuisine. 

Okuno-in Temple
The highlight of Koyasan. Walk along the 2-kilometer path to the temple in a mystical atmosphere lined with hundreds of thousands of small stone pagodas.
There will be a lot of walking at each destination on this tour, so please wear comfortable shoes.

Danjo Garan Complex
The Danjo Garan Complex is a sacred place representing the concept of Shingon Mikkyo Buddhism established by Kobo Daishi (Saint Kobo).

Koyasan Temple Lodging
Enjoy a Japanese-style meal of Buddhist vegetarian cuisine in a temple lodging situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Guests staying at the Fukuchi-in temple lodging may also relax in hot springs.

DAY 2 Mt Koya – Osaka

Morning Chants
Participants who wish to participate in the Buddhist morning chants may do so, this starts at 6:00am. Enjoy breakfast, Buddhist vegetarian cuisine.

Free time after check out until departure.

Koyasan Station to Osaka Nankai Namba Station
Travel to Koyasan Station by bus then Gokurakubashi Station to Osaka Nankai Namba Station by train. Arrive around 17:00.
